UX

The (user) experience of UX Recruitment

Over the last few months, we have seen a demand for UX Design in the market. Contract, permanent, remote or hybrid – it wouldn’t surprise you to hear that candidates are being snapped up even before they reach the wider market.

In 2020, UX was ranked in the top 5 essential/in demand skills on LinkedIn, and we certainly don’t see this easing in the future. What is UX? Put simply it is a design process with the sole objective to design a system that offers a great experience for its users. The goal of UX is to improve customer satisfaction and experience through their interaction with a product. UX can be broken down into a variety of different categories, from research to interaction design.

But why the sudden interest? Businesses are investing more into their UX in order to maintain a competitive edge in today’s tech-heavy market. More companies are continuing to expand their online offerings – perhaps to accommodate unexpected changes in the future (not another lockdown I hope). The Pandemic led to an increase in the need for online services putting a heavy burden on UX, in some instances the need for UX is higher than the number of designers available.

Where are the Candidates? As mentioned UX candidates are definitely at the advantage with a plethora of opportunities. The market is being squeezed with each company competing for the same pool of candidates. Most, looking for high level experience who can jump straight onto a project with little ‘hand-holding’. For clients, can I give you a little tip… If you have the time and resources available, perhaps it’s worthwhile considering an entry level candidate that is ready and raring to go! Give them the opportunity to develop their skills and retain their talent within your company.

Here at Marshall Wolfe, we have had success working with and placing multiple UX candidates. From Content Designers, UX Designers to UX Researchers we have been able to engage with candidates across a variety of backgrounds and have built up an expansive UX network, which continues to grow day by day.

If you are seeking to expand your UX capabilities/UX team or are looking for your next UX role, get in touch and we can help improve your User Experience.
