The month-long celebration in October of Black culture is a response to centuries worth of exclusion and under-representation. While it is important to acknowledge the past, it is also crucial to focus on the present and the future.
Black History Month is a time to analyse the racial environment within your organisation. This coincides with this years theme for Black History Month: Time for Change: Actions Not words. No matter how inclusive and accommodating your organisation might be, there is always room for improvement.
While we should always be conscious of inclusivity and cultural sensitivity, there is also a focus on re-evaluating your company processes and making necessary changes for the better….
